Who we are

Since our vibrant beginning on December 7, 1941, the San Francisco Rose Society has been the city's radiant heart of rose culture! As a passionate non-profit and educational charity, we've dedicated ourselves to the art and science of growing and showcasing stunning roses. Dive into our interactive programs, enthralling lectures, and breathtaking rose garden tours that run from January to November. Our monthly meetings, held every second Sunday, are a whirlwind of rose-inspired excitement and learning. With open arms, we welcome rose enthusiasts of all levels, from curious beginners to seasoned experts. Our members, brimming with passion and enthusiasm, are the lifeblood of our society, and we're ecstatic to unite rose lovers from all corners of San Francisco and beyond. Embrace the autumn spirit with our "Fall Rose Arrangements" workshop! Join us at the County Fair Building, where guest speaker Barbara Gordon will guide you through crafting two enchanting rose arrangements perfect for the Holiday Season. Please bring your shears, greenery, and any autumn-inspired organic materials like pinecones, acorns, and leaves, along with two medium-small containers. We’ll provide the roses and fill, courtesy of SFRS. Members, don’t forget to bring along some garden roses from home to share! This workshop is a fantastic way to dive into the festive season while learning the art of rose arranging from the best.
